The plan for today was to get back into into gym routine, my morning routine is carefully planned to get everything done without being late for either the gym or my day at the uni. My alarm is set for 5.11am which allows me one 9 minute snooze and I get up at 5.20am, I feed my cat and then meditate for 15-20 minutes then I either:

Head to the gym for 6.30am, come home for 7.50ish, which gives me roughly 50 minutes to have a shower and get ready, have breakfast, prep my lunch and back in the car to get to campus for 9am.

Or

Take all my shower, breakfast and lunch stuff with me to the gym for 6.30am and then shower & get ready on campus, have breakfast at my desk and ready to start work at 9am.

I’ve tried both and prefer the latter as it feels less stressful, however, it does mean that I have to prep some stuff the night before and also be quite organised in the morning so not to forget anything.

Last night, I worked late and didn’t get enough sorted for this morning so woke up already on the back foot and felt like I’d be rushing around so skipped the gym!! I allowed my excuses take over my goals.

This is something I want to really explore this year!! I don’t beat myself up about not going but do get frustrated with myself for not getting stuff ready last night without any real excuse.

I'm 40 something gal living in the beautiful county of Lincolnshire, England. I run my own business which is a rollercoaster of good times and bad times but it is what makes life interesting. I'm a self-confessed foodie, which some people might think is bordering an obsession, but a good obsession I would say. I am a fully qualified food technologist, nutritionist and personal trainer and use my skills and knowledge to keep striving to better myself in all areas of my life. Despite being dyslexic I love reading both fiction and non-fiction books and usually have four or five on the go at any one time. I enjoy keeping myself fit and healthy by regular visits to the gym as well as enjoying open water swimming and sometimes I'm brave enough to swim without a wetsuit. This blog is all about my life and adventures.
